It is hard to believe but 2007 has come to a close. We had a great year here at LHT and we are looking forward in seeing what 2008 will bring. Over the last year, A2 learned a lot of new things and with A1 they will be paving the way for new technology offerings in the midcoast. LHT is excited to now offer website building to our clients. We are so excited to branch out in this new venture and we can't wait to show everyone what we are up to. We will have client links and testimonials soon to come on our website.
Check back often to see what new things are popping up for LHT! We are going to continue to build our client list and work with those clients to best meet their technology needs. We are going to participate in the annual Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce Business Expo on April 8th, both as helpers and expo attendees. Put the date on your calendar and come see us at our booth. We are working on fun give aways but more importantly, can demonstrate to you personally how we can help you and your organization. Plus this year's expo theme is Technology. It is a perfect fit for us and we look forward to being there.
November came and went so quickly. The Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce had its annual auction and it was a huge success. It was a fun night of pirating and purchasing. The Ambers from LHT sure had fun helping out.
Now it seems the holiday season is in full swing. The weekend after Thanksgiving Rockland went into full holiday mode. The lamp posts are adorned with red ribbon wreaths, the shop windows are decorated to their holiday best and the lobster tree is up in Rockland Harbor Park. Where else could you see a 25 foot tree made out of lobster traps, decorated with buoys, and topped with a star toting lobster?! We love it.
We hope, wherever you are, you are enjoying the start to your holiday season as much as we are! Happy Holidays.
Amber received notification from the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce that she has been elected to serve on their board of directors. She is thrilled and knows it will be a mutually beneficial relationship. She will be inducted this December.
Look out - we no longer fade to the background when it comes to the doors of downtown Rockland on Main Street. We worked with Terry at RCS Graphics to get the perfect logo screen printed for our door. Thanks Terry, we love it. Our door is located between Huston Tuttle and The Dowling Walsh Gallery. When driving or walking by make sure to glance over and see our greatly (and brightly) enhanced door. You can't miss it, it is big and pink!
A personal side note, the highlight of Amber's month had to be meeting Jamie Wyeth at The Dowling Walsh Gallery. Jake Dowling made the introduction. She often visits various Wyeth works at the Farnsworth and in Jake's gallery. Meeting Jamie in person was something to be remembered.
The weather has been changing and so have the leaves. Bursts of orange, yellow and fiery red are enhancing our tree lined streets. It is so beautiful! And only getting better as the fall turns slowly (hopefully slowly) into winter.
While the leaves are turning we at LHT have been busy getting the word out that we are here in midcoast Maine and ready to help your business. We sent a tri-fold mailer to many area businesses. The purpose of the mailer is to introduce ourselves to the community and invite you to stop by and see us. We want to meet our neighbors and we want you to know that we are here. Come by anytime.
Our Web site is up and running! As of August 9th we have an official Web site for LHT that is fully functioning! Thanks cozydeluxe. We love it.
A2 has been working this month on taking a web designing class for XHTML. It has been a good learning experience for her and we are excited at what new things in the future we can offer our customers.
A1 helped one of our customers with an important conversion between their custom supply chain management database to a new version of SAP (accounting software). The “Go Live” date was August 20th and we are proud to report it went as smooth as can be. Months of team work paid off in the end. We designed and implemented a new interface, an automated FTP protocol, and cool new email alerts to let users / IT staff know that upload and FTP was successful. Additionally we assisted with detailed test scenarios to ensure data being sent from the database to SAP was being done with 100% accuracy. Phew! A1 needs a vacation.
A1 and A2 are hard at work and putting their heads together to target small to medium sized businesses in midcoast Maine for custom database opportunities. Additionally, they are working on the details of the Lobster Database (helping Maine fisherman track their catch, expenses, and take home pay). Stay tuned for updates. Happy Fourth of July everyone!
Summer is officially here and we couldn’t be happier. The new LHT brochure is finished and we have started to distribute them around the community. LHT has become a member of the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce. Roxanne Jobe was so helpful to us, and we look forward to working with her as we become a part of the chamber family.
We also have an enhanced business listing on VillageSoup.com. You can visit their Web site and see our listing. It is http://www.villagesoup.com/lht/. It was a great experience to work with them and to get the word out about LHT in our community.
Amber has just announced that she has her first customer for LHT. Amber will be working closely with The American Cancer Society (ACS), New England Division on a custom database for a matching gift program. Amber is very excited to have the opportunity to work with them and looks forward to a great relationship with ACS. Coincidentally, ACS, the Chicago office, was the first customer of her previous company, ExIS, Inc.
Well its official, LHT has its very own mascot. Her name is Lola, and she is a mini Australian Sheppard. She is a great addition to the office and keeps us all on our toes! If you stop by the office she’ll greet you at the door with a wagging butt (Aussies don’t have tails) and ball for you to throw. They say Aussies are smart. Who knows, maybe we'll get a new programmer out of her!
little harbor technology is officially open for business. Amber Heffner has launched her second business! Amber brings twenty years of entrepreneurial and technology experience to this venture. She has made a career of providing unique database solutions to customers who have businesses or aspects of their businesses that cannot be addressed by off the shelf software. Amber is excited to be able to offer LHT’s services here in midcoast Maine. Stop by and see her anytime at 359 Main Street, across from the Farnsworth Museum gift shop and above the Dowling Walsh Gallery. Keep checking out our site to see what exciting news we here at LHT have to share!
