July 2008
Happy Birthday AmericaAmerican Flag

We hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July.  We here at LHT enjoyed the long weekend and the quality time with our friends and family.

We wanted to share some wonderful news about a fellow business here in Rockland.  Maritime Energy has announced that they are giving away a FREE 140,000 BTU boiler to one lucky winner.  This is welcome news as costs of heating oil and electricity are on the rise.  This will help one lucky family heat their home this winter efficiently and cost effectively.  Thanks for doing your part to help give back to the consumers in the area.

On the LHT front, we have donated an item to the annual Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce auction.  We donated a full service website makeover for one lucky bidder.  The package includes search engine optimization, updates and more.  Go to www.therealmaine.com to read more about the auction, see our donation, as well as many others from local area businesses.

A Collaborative Effort

For the last several months Amber #1 has been networking and meeting talented people that have helped to expand the LHT service offering.  With the success of launching websites for Toast of the Town Catering, All Aboard Trolley Co. and the Maine House Democrats, we have been working to be a one-stop provider of website services to those individuals or organizations in need.  This means from URL registration to site launch you can now come to LHT.

We are proud to announce that we are currently partnering with 2 other Rockland businesses.  They are Todd Gustafson, owner of Computer Solutions and Joan Hantz, owner of Windsor Street Design Associates.  In a very short time they have been a huge help to us and of great value to our customers.  Todd and Joan, thank you.

And of course summer is officially here in Maine.  Tourist traffic is up and will only be building.  Blues Fest is July 11 - 13, bringing some of the finest Blues artists around to our midcoast area.  Don’t forget to check out the shows and see what a fantastic job Paul Benjamin and his crew have done for yet another year.

Summer is on the way

There are certain signs that let folks in Maine know that summer is around the corner. One of which is the start of the Camden and Rockland farmer's markets. That is a very hopeful sign. Another, at the Cellardoor Vineyard, which will surely become an annual event, was the Spring Fling. The weather doesn't always cooperate but we look forward to it just the same.

On the work side the A Team (Amber #1 and Amber #2) have been actively networking and getting new business. We attended Maine Women's Network and Penobscot Regional Chamber of Commerce gatherings. Both are great ways to see familiar faces, while also meeting new people. A#1 also spent significant time meeting with talented people for future collaborations as we look to strengthen our service offerings to our customers. Watch for more news on this in the very near future.

April 2008
Business Expo

April was an amazing month for LHT. Our coming out party at the 2008 Penobscot Bay Chamber Regional Chamber Business Expo on April 8th at the Samoset Resort was a huge success. There were a hundred plus businesses in exhibition, showing off their products and services. It was the perfect opportunity for LHT to let people know that we are here and what we do. Our bright colors, sharpened pencils, pink & blue M&Ms, and raffle prizes (our big prize was an iPod Nano!) drew hundreds of people to our booth. We discussed our custom database and web building work with many interested parties. Thanks to all of you that stopped by and for making our coming out party a success.

With April behind us, it feels official that spring is here. The grass is getting greener, the trees are blooming, we are sneezing (but happy about it), and the sun is shining. A happy and healthy spring to all!

March 2008
Busy Busy Busy

March was a busy month at LHT. Amber #2 continued her education by attending seminars that covered web site placement in search engines and search engine optimization. She also learned about the newest marketing techniques available to the public and how to utilize each and every one of them no matter the type or size of business. This has been beneficial to us, as well as our new web clients.

Also in March was the big push to finalize details for the LHT coming out party at the Business Expo at the Samoset on April 8th. Pencils were ordered, M&Ms were packaged (they are so stinking cute), brochures were folded and printed, and additional market collateral was gathered. A2 was one busy worker bee this month! She successfully held down the fort while A1 visited clients in NY, Louisville and Nashville.

February 2008
Annual Dinner

February was a fun month for LHT. For the first time we attended the Annual Awards Dinner for the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce. Everyone in attendance got dressed up for a great night of mingling, eating and dancing. Additionally, business people from the area were acknowledged and presented with awards for their contributions to the midcoast. It was so nice to see business acquaintances and friends be recognized for their efforts. We commend those individuals and businesses for jobs well done.

January 2008
Let it Snow!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! We here at LHT don't know how the rest of you feel, but we are tired of all this snow! Well all of us but Lola. It was fun and pretty the first few times but ENOUGH is ENOUGH! It would be nice if we could all get to our cars, doors, coffee shops, etc. without having to walk knee deep in snow. But... we do live in Maine. It comes with the territory.

No fear! Spring is around the corner. In the mean while, stay safe and take advantage whether it be skiing or making snow angels, and then warming up with a nice cup of hot chocolate.
